Measuring battery voltage
"Why measure my vehicle's battery?"
As a specialist in the repair of children's electric vehicles, we can come to your aid by advising you on the right part to take from our shop. Knowing how to measure the voltage of your battery and then its charger will help you identify whether the problem is with the charger or the battery.
Equipment required:
To start with, you'll need a working voltmeter/multimeter with its cables that you can connect to the device: make sure that it displays, without having already connected it to the battery, around 0 Volt.
Now connect them to the battery by placing the right-hand red cable on the + of the battery and the left-hand black cable on the - of the battery:
If functional, your battery should display a value close to 12 V. A 24 V battery should of course display 24 V and so on for each type of battery.
If your battery is working, but you're having trouble charging it, the problem must surely be with the charger, which you can also test...
